AL ITTEFAQ STEEL CO.’s rolling mill has achieved a combined rolling capacity of 2.8 MTPA. It is the first rolling mill to be set up at Dammam, in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia. It combines a gifted workforce with level 2 automation that controls the different plant zones. In addition to its two rolling mills in Dammam (R1 and R2), the R3 rolling mill utilizes an endless rolling machine that uses electric arc fusion welding.

The rolling mill is operated through cascading motors from the roughing mill to the finishing stand. A four-slit-rolling for smaller size is also part of the design of the mill, with 18 mill stands. The R3 mill is capable of producing 12mm to 50mm rebar.
